Major General Vogel is a seasoned military leader with extensive experience in both domestic and international operations. She previously served as the Maryland Assistant Adjutant General for Air, where she commanded the Maryland Air National Guard and oversaw its readiness for federal and state missions. Simultaneously, she advised the Secretary of the Air Force on international affairs, focusing on building and strengthening global partnerships.
Prior to her current role, Major General Vogel held the position of Director for Manpower, Personnel, Recruiting, and Service at the Air National Guard Readiness Center. In this capacity, she was responsible for managing the comprehensive personnel lifecycle, including recruitment, training, and retention of over 108,000 Airmen.
Major General April D. Vogal holds a Bachelor of Arts- History degree from the University of Colorado as well as a Master of Science in National Security Strategy from National War College. She also completed the Capstone General and Flag Officer course with the National Defense University.
