James Barkley, Maj Gen, USAF (Ret)

Senior Advisor

James R. Barkley is a Senior Advisor at the Patriot Group. Prior to retirement, General Barkley served as the Mobilization Assistant to the Deputy Chief of Staff, Strategic Plans and Requirements, HQ US Air Force. General Barkley has over 33 years of military service.

General Barkley has also served as the Air Force Reserve Advisor to the Commander US Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) and served as a Battle Watch Commander in the USSTRATCOM Global Operations Center, responsible for maintaining, operating, performing, and supervising the entire USSTRATCOM mission to include nuclear, space, cyber, and missile defense. Gen Barkley is a command pilot with 3200 hours in the C-5 and KC-135 aircraft, and over 13,000 hours total time.

General Barkley received a Bachelor of Science degree from Arizona State University as well as an MBA from Regis University. General Barkley has also completed the Capstone General and Flag Officer course with the National Defense University, the Joint Air and Space Operations Senior Staff Course, and was a National Security Fellow at the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.
